|The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft Adds New Summer Camp to Reach High School Students
Louisville, KY – May 20, 2014 – The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft (KMAC) is excited to announce a new summer art camp for the 2014 season designed specifically for high school students.Clay Sculpting from Second Life is a week long clay studio program (August 4 – 8) for students ages 14 through 18 that utilizes KMAC’s upcoming summer exhibition titled Second Life to draw inspiration. Second Life explores nature, science, anatomy, craft, and preservation through taxidermy and students will work directly in the KMAC galleries and art studio to make three-dimensional clay studies from the objects on display. From John James Audubon’s ornithological paintings to Kay Polson Grubola’s assemblages of insect wings and exoskeletons, students will be challenged and inspired by the diverse animal study.
