Current Affairs: Louisville Waterfront Pavilion Competition

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft exhibits pavilion design entries for the upcoming Centennial Festival of Riverboats celebration in honor of the Belle of Louisville’s 100th anniversary taking place on the Louisville Waterfront from October 14- 19, 2014. In conjunction with this momentous occasion, an international design competition was held for a proposed temporary pavilion designed for festival activities. Architects, designers, and artists were invited to design a small-scale, temporary and multipurpose pavilion. Current Affairs: Louisville Waterfront Pavilion Competition designs will be on view on the third floor Brown-Forman gallery from April 19th through June 29th.

The competition has garnered international attention, with entrants from 16 countries and twenty
of the United States. Concentrated on Louisville, the design competition entries provide a
unique survey of contemporary design trends from across the globe.

A jury of regional business and arts leaders will select and announce the winning pavilion to be used on the Louisville waterfront on June 14, 2014. Visitors to the museum will be able to vote for a special Viewer’s Choice Award through June 14th.

Hours: Tues.- Sat. 10am-5pm, Sun. 11am-5pm. The museum is closed on Mondays.

Admission: Adults $8.00, Child (0-5) Free, Child (6-12) $2.00, Child (13-17 & College with I.D.) $4.00,

Military $5.00, Seniors $5.00, Groups 10 (or more) $5.00 each.
