Artist statement:

My artwork strongly deals with lens of perception. I believe that every person should and will have a different viewpoint based on his or her gender, race, and socioeconomic status. The kaleidoscope of these impressions is what makes us innately human. I have simply used art as pathway to convey my viewpoint. Colony collapse is real. Without our bees we don’t have our pollinators and our food system as we know it will stutter and break down. Bees are important!

I am a student of mistake and primarily self-taught. My mistakes sometimes have led to my greatest successes. For instance I was working on a piece that was a sheet of pure medium on glass and I left it out and blind women knocked it over and shattered the piece. At first I was devastated but with time and perspective I came to see the painting looked better fractured.

I am influenced by Van Gogh, Monet, most of the impressionists. I love their use of color.
