KSA & KMAC present: Tom Marioni: An Evening and Lecture with Conceptual Artist Tom Marioni

The Kentucky School of Art at Spalding University with the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft present an evening with Tom Marioni! Please join us for this exciting event!

A Pioneering Conceptual Artist in the 1970’s, Tom Marioni developed social art as a sculpture action and he founded the Musuem of Conceptual Art, as a “large-scale social work of art.”
“The Act of Drinking Beer with Friends is the Highest Form of Art” is his most significant work.

Instead of looking for form in things, or objects, in the world, Tom Marioni & 70’s Conceptual artists paid attention to forms that occur in everyday life situations.

Drawing is central to Marioni’s art, and in 1999 he had a drawing retrospective, with a catalog,
at the Mills College Art Museum in Oakland.Tom Marioni, an artist who hasworked for over 40
years, is a Guggenheim Fellow, won 3 National Endowments for theArts and his work in San
Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Pompidou Center
in Paris.
