2014 Open Studio Weekend Events
- Friday, September 5 – Open Studio Weekend Launch Party at the Cressman Center
- September 5-14 – Open Studio Weekend Exhibition at the Cressman Center
- September 13-14 – Open Studio Weekend Tours
In its second year, Open Studio Weekend will generate nearly 20,000 visits to local art studios. In 2013, visitors included families from Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Nashville and St. Louis. Last years event proved to be a fun, educational and successful way to bring artists and the public together– with art sales of $60,000+.
Louisvillians will experience numerous artists working in their studios and with a variety of media. The LVAA and Hite Art Institute want to expand this new and innovative way for us to open the creative process to new patrons from across the region.
Friday, September 5 – Launch Party at the Cressman Center
The program kick-off-event will be an exhibition and party featuring one piece from each studio on Friday, September 5 at Cressman Center for the Arts in downtown Louisville.
September 5-14 Open Studio Weekend Exhibition at the Cressman Center
This year, the successful exhibition will be for a whole week prior to the tour weekend. Thus, allowing visitors to check out your artwork and plan their studio tour itinerary.
September 13-14 Open Studio Weekend Tours
The public will be joined by museum directors, curators, gallery owners, and private collectors in visiting studios and discussing artwork directly with the artist • Open Studio Weekend will be promoted in local and regional media including Lexington, Indianapolis and Cincinnati and social media channels, including facebook, twitter, pinterest, tumblr, ArtxFM radio, LVAA’s Artebella (daily local art email featuring local artists, 6500 viewers/daily, 50 states, 106 countries)

***All Proceeds will go to the Hite Art Institute’s Mary Spencer Nay Scholarship and the LVAA’s Children’s Fine Art Classes program.
