The Untold Tale of Bob Lockhart: A Retrospective

The Untold Tale of Bob Lockhart: A Retrospective is a series of three exhibitions, co-produced by the Louisville Visual Art Association, Bellarmine University and the University of Louisville Hite Art Institute. Included in the schedule are the following exhibits, events and community programs:

  • All of Bob Lockhart – The Louisville Visual Art Association’s PUBLIC Gallery, November 6-December 31, 2014 (Artist reception, open to public: November 21, 5-7PM). Curated by Jessica Bennett Kincaid, Exhibitions Assistant, the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville, this exhibition will feature a broad selection from the artist’s oeuvres, which is abundant and complex.
  • Bobzilla! The Legacy of Lockhart, Bellarmine University’s McGrath Gallery, November 7-December 13, 2014 (Artists’ Public Reception: December 5, 5-7PM). Curated by former Lockhart student, Jessica Miller and the LVAA Exhibition Committee, the exhibition of Bob Lockhart, 1968-2010. Several works int he exhibition were produced expressly for this exhibition.
  • The Sardonic Eye: Bob Lockhart in Context – Hite Art Institute Cressman Center for Visual Arts at the University of Louisville, Nov. 21, 7-9PM. The Sardonic Eye: Bob Lockhart in Context provides an original reflection on Lockhart’s work, drawing from the Hite Art Institute Print Collection and loans from the Speed Art Museum and significant private collections. Remarks by exhibition curator, Peter Morrin, Director, Center for Arts and Culture Partnerships, University of Louisville and director emeritus of the Speed Art Museum, and the artist.

  • Dec. 5, 5-7PM, Artists’ reception for Bobzilla! The Legacy of Lockhart, McGrath Gallery on the campus of Bellarmine University; open and free to the public.
