Through My Eyes
Friday, July 11 from 5-9 p.m. Come join PYRO Gallery in celebrating the opening of Through My Eyes: A Sculpture Show by Mike McCarthy!
McCarthy’s sculptural works in stone and wood are well known to art lovers in this area for their exquisite craftsmanship, exceptional sophistication, and beauty. McCarthy’s primary inspiration as an artist is his life-long fascination with the human figure.
For his first ever solo exhibition, McCarthy has focused on that part of the face often called the “window to the soul” – the eye. “The eyes convey much about a person’s thoughts and feelings.” McCarthy explains. “I love the shape of the eye, and in this selection of work, I wanted to explore that, and to bring out the sensations and feelings that the eyes reveal about each person.” The works in this show perfectly capture all the unspoken thoughts and feelings conveyed by the eyes. Come see for yourself!
In addition to Mike’s work, we will be showing in the Members’ Gallery the works of PYRO artists Carrie Burr, Bob Lockhart, Corie Neumayer, Beverly Glascock, Wendi Smith, Amanda Briede, and Bette Levy.
PYRO Gallery is located at 909 East Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky.
This event is free and open to the public; an experience you will not want to miss! Come celebrate local art with refreshments and meet the artist!
