Twenty-First Annual African American Art Exhibition at Actor’s Theatre Gallery

Exhibition: January 6-February 15, 2015
First Friday Trolley Hop: February 6, 2015

Located in Actors Theatre’s lobby spaces, the Actors Theatre Gallery showcases works by distinguished local and regional artists, featuring diverse media and themes. Actors Theatre Gallery participates in Republic Bank’s First Friday Trolley Hop, which occurs the first Friday of every month, starting at 5 p.m. Every January and February, Actors Theatre Gallery also presents the distinguished African American Art Exhibition; a juried exhibit that celebrates African American history, culture and art. Now in its twenty-first year, the African American Art Exhibition is the fourth longest-running temporary exhibit of its kind.

The exhibition is not theme-specific. Actors Theatre is a not-for-profit professional regional theatre located in the heart of downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Over 20,000 theatre and arts patrons view the exhibition, which has become a popular highlight of the region’s visual arts season.
