January 18—March 22, 2013, Visual art exhibition: WOMEN WORK. Supported in part by the Kentucky Foundation for Women.
Opening Reception, Friday, Jan. 18, 5:30—9:00; Music, Refreshments, Artists present.
The best female artists in the region will provide examples of their specialties in every medium, in two and three-dimensional work. We are proud to showcase the work of Elmer Lucille Allen, pottery; Julie Baldyga, pastels; Charlotte Browning, ceramics; Katherine Corcoran, sculpture; Mary Craik, fiber; Wendy Currier, pen & ink; Debra Lott, oil; Sarah Lyon, photography; Judy Mudd, watercolor and Madonna Wilson, wood. Included will be the work of girls who will create a mural on the Women Work theme, under the tutelage of professional artists. Each girl’s portion of the mural will be framed and offered for purchase. Artworks will demonstrate the different interpretations of the phrase “women work.” You won’t want to miss the opening reception at Weber Gallery, free to the public, where you will meet the artists, enjoy the music and yummy snacks among the liveliest and most interesting crowd in town.
